The Benrinnes 14 year old 2008 from Mossburn Distillers, bottled as part of the Vintage Casks Series No. 31, matured in a Moscatel Hogshead, which gave it special aromas.

 

Aroma : A distinct grassy aroma with balanced notes of lemon and malt.

 

Taste : Full-bodied and fruity with hints of red fruits and vinous notes that bring out a certain sweetness and light spiciness.


Finish : Notes of dried fruits, especially plums, accompanied by additional oak and a hint of black pepper.

 

Verdict : This single malt offers a harmonious interplay of fruitiness, sweetness and spice, enhanced by the Moscatel cask maturation.
