Aroma : Typical of Caol Ila, a clear, fresh smokiness dominates the nose, paired with maritime notes of seaweed and salty spray. There are also fresh citrus notes, particularly lemon and a hint of green apple, which lend a pleasant freshness. Underpinning this are lighter notes of vanilla and freshly cut grass.

Palate : On the palate, the whisky is powerful and smoky, but with a remarkably smooth texture. The smoke is well integrated and is complemented by flavours of smoked lemon and some pepper. Peaty notes are present, but not overpowering, and there is a pleasant sweetness reminiscent of honey and ripe pears. Herbal notes and a slight saltiness round off the flavour.
