Aroma:
A fascinating balance of fruity freshness and smoky influence. Fruity notes of ripe apples and pears combine with a subtle yet present peat smoke. Behind this, vanilla, honey and a light citrus note unfold to counteract the sweetness.

Flavour:
Strong and full-bodied, as you would expect from a whisky with 61.5%, but surprisingly well balanced. The peat smoke dominates at first, but is accompanied by a pleasant sweetness. Vanilla and honey reappear, followed by a hint of dark chocolate and roasted nuts. Fruity accents, particularly green apples and some peach, enliven the flavour and provide freshness.

Finish:
Long-lasting, with a gentle but present smoky note that gradually recedes. The sweetness remains and is accompanied by a slight spiciness and woody notes. A dry, warming finish with a hint of leather and dark chocolate.

Special features:
This single cask whisky is a special bottling from Kingsbarns, which is known for its fruity and elegant Lowland malts. The maturation in an ex-peated cask gives it an additional dimension of peat smoke, which harmonises perfectly with the typical fruit and vanilla flavours. The high alcohol content provides intensity, but the balance of flavours means it is not overpowering. An ideal whisky for lovers of smoky malts who still appreciate fruity and sweet notes.

Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to open up the flavours and soften the strong alcohol content.
