Nose : The fresh fruit notes and dry peat smoke immediately make you dive very deep into this dram. The wood provides a spicy scent reminiscent of clove, ginger and cinnamon. There are also nuances of chocolate, roasted malt with some sweet toffee, brown sugar and delicate coconut and vanilla notes. On a second nosing, more of the citrus and wood notes come to the fore and combine with the scents of melon, dried plums and raisins. The earthy smokiness embraces and unites the intense fruit and spice of this dram and once again highlights the maritime Port Charlotte character, so you can literally smell the sea breeze. 

Palate : From the very first drop, one is captured by the force of the aromas. The sweetness of malt and wood barrel, the elegant smoke, the citrus and dried fruit. A second sip helps to sort out the variety of aromas more easily ... Wood, dried fruit, marzipan and spices. Then caramel and chocolate and earthy intense smoke. With a little water, citrus, coconut and vanilla flavors come to the fore, which also underlines the intense maritime character and aromatic depth of this exceptional single malt. 

Finish : In the finish, the earthy BBQ smoke turns into a medicinal phenolic spectacle, paired with coconut, soft wood and floral notes. Maritime, salty elements create the perfect finale for this classic as well as exceptional Port Charlotte.
