Aroma : Fruit bomb! Looks like plum must and smells like it too. In addition, a rich collection of fruits: Black cherries, oranges, raisins, figs, ripe papaya... Sticky sweetness. Now tart aromas join in: soft oak, juniper berries and leaves. Rubbing on the back of the hand reveals cedar, honey and walnut. Delicious! The addition of water gives honey pistachios and apricots in rum.

 

Taste : Plum dominates immediately: now we have a classic plum liqueur praline in dark chocolate. Plus a truckload of red and black fruits of the nose. The juniper touch persists, hints of gin and lavender soap. With a little water reveals mahogany wood, milk chocolate and (even) more plums.

 

Finish : Long! Sticky sweet and delicious. Molasses, dates in chocolate. Saffron. The soft tannins leave the mouth slightly dry. Compote is a classic dessert, but this whisky could just as easily be called a main course. Rich, fruity, sweet - and black as night!
