Aroma : There are slight peaty notes at the start, but they are not overpowering. One perceives aromas of green apple, pear and honey, accompanied by a subtle maltiness.

Palate : The rough youthfulness of this whisky is evident on the palate with hints of grain and malt. There are also hints of fresh fruits such as apple and citrus. The peatiness is present but balanced and adds an earthy depth.

Finish : The finish is medium long and warm, with a hint of smoke and a slight sweet aftertaste of honey and vanilla.

Conclusion : The Kilchoman Genesis Stage 4: Mashing is an interesting insight into the developmental stages of this whisky. Although it doesn't yet have the depth and complexity of a fully matured whisky, it still offers a variety of flavours and an exciting taste of what may be to come.
