Nose: A fascinating blend of smoky and fruity notes unfolds on the nose. At first you notice the characteristic smokiness of Kilchoman, but it is more subtle than some other Islay whiskies. Sweet and fruity aromas of green apples, citrus and peaches are also present. Some vanilla and malt round out the bouquet.

 

Palate: The taste is complex and balanced. The smoky elements are present here, but they are well integrated with the fruity and spicy notes. There is a nice blend of sweet vanilla and honey tones, accompanied by hints of cinnamon and ginger. The fruit flavours continue, with green apples, pears and a slight citrus freshness.

 

Finish: The finish is medium long and pleasantly warm. A subtle smokiness and a sweet spiciness linger on the tongue.

 

Conclusion: The Kilchoman 13 Edition 100% Islay is a remarkable whisky that balances the characteristic Islay smokiness with fruity and sweet elements. It is a delight for lovers of complex and balanced whiskies.
